STICKMAN SOUND FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

CES, Full Sail and Valentines

Ah, the New Year.  Fresh starts, writing the wrong date on documents, new calendars, new goals and CES coming to town as soon as everyone recovered from the holidays.  CES seemed a little early this year and we’re not sure if that’s because it was or we were still full from all the holiday food.  Once again, the freelancers and our gear all went to work to help people record sound for all the awesome tech that was introduced to the world.

If you were around last year to see the pictures of the 100 R1a units we provided a client, we hope you got to see this year’s pictures of the 200 R1a units we sent out.  Marcus and the crew worked their fingers programming and testing all those units before they went out to the field and, as usual, they did an awesome job.  Please make your own drum-roll sound for even more amazing news….99% return rate!!  Same return rate as last year with double the units out, we might have done a happy dance.

Thank you to our clients (we wouldn’t be here without you!  Really.  We mean that!), freelancers (you make us look good!), friends (for sanity) and family (they also had to put up with our late night phone calls and early morning texts) who made CES 2018 a successful week.  We can’t wait to see what CES 2019 brings us!

Fernando heads out to Florida later this month for the very much anticipated Full Sail Hall of Fame week. Fernando was one of the chosen six to be inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame, where he will be recognized for his contributions to the world of entertainment, media, and the arts. Each year, Full Sail honors past and present inductees by hosting a week-long celebration on their campus. The event itself features panels by different individuals in the industry and alumni, workshops, meet and greets, and other awesome opportunities for their students.

This month you will see us spending a lot of time at T-Mobile Arena to cheer on the Vegas Golden Knights. The VGK have 9 home games and 1 away game over 3 weeks starting February 11th. That’s a lot of home games in a short period of time and it should be awesome. We are in serious need of some slate gray and gold foam fingers over here!

Happy Valentine’s Day to all!  Or Happy Day After Valentine’s Candy Sales to all!  If I plan things right I will still have red and pink Dove dark chocolate hearts in my freezer for 4th of July.

Featured Gear : Sanken Cos-11

STICKMAN HAS THE SANKEN COS 11 IN STOCK AND READY TO BE PICKED UP OR SHIPPED!! THE SANKEN COS-11D, OVERCOMES RFI (RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE) FROM THE DIGITAL TRANSMITTER. IN TODAY’S WIRELESS TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS THE MICROPHONE MUST REMAIN UNAFFECTED BY NEW FORMS OF DIGITAL TRANSMITTER SIGNALS. THEY PRESENT NEW CHALLENGES IN THE AREA OF EMISSION PROTECTION. IN MANY CASES, NOISE LEVELS INCREASE AND THE S/N RATIO IS DETERIORATED BY THE INTERFERENCE OF DIGITAL TRANSMITTERS. SANKEN HAS DESIGNED THE COS-11D SPECIFICALLY TO DIMINISH THE INSTANCES WHERE INTERFERENCE IS AN ISSUE.

FOUR COLORS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE COS-11D SERIES: BLACK, GRAY, BEIGE AND WHITE.
